Here in Indiana the month of October means three things are certain. (1) The air will soon call for coats! (2) Festivals are in full swing in every county. (3) Halloween celebrations have been planned and are eagerly awaited!
The fall season is one of my favorites, and for good reason! The slight chill in the air means cozy hoodies and cute boots can be freed from the closet while the apple harvest means plenty of homemade applesauce, pies, and crumbles at any family get together. I know many of our customers come from warmer climates, and may find excitement over 50 or even 40-degree weather absolutely crazy. I accept these claims, as I know that I am an uncommon case with my deep love for cool weather.
No matter your feelings on the temperature, you must admit that there is something deeply comforting about the fall with the excuse for hot cider, tea, or chocolate readily available any day. The warmth found inside families and homes has birthed my love for changing leaves and falling snow (of course the cute accessories also play a part).
This Halloween I will be enjoying a local concert while helping pass out candy on the town square to all the little ghoulish ghosts and frightful impersonations that will swarm the city with energy and excitement that we only have as children. I cannot wait to see all of the costumes and the joy that comes along with them!
