Father's Day

Father's Day

With Father’s Day quickly approaching, I have been thinking about my childhood and how thankful I am for my dad. Throughout my life there have been occasions that I have heard fathers say quality time is more important than quantity time. I am so blessed that I had both. I honestly can’t remember a game or activity that my dad didn’t attend. He was home every night. I never knew any different, until I was old enough to go to friends’ houses and realized that not everyone’s dad was like mine.

I didn’t do anything to deserve a great dad, but I am very thankful that I had one. Several years ago, my dad had the “widow maker” heart attack. I can’t image how different my life and my kids’ lives would be if we would have lost him that day. My youngest never would have known him.

Those of us that are blessed to still have our dads in our lives, really need to take the time to tell our dad’s how much we love them this Father’s Day.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad with my youngest daughter, patiently trying to teach her how to surf. Thank you, dad, for always being a vital part of our lives…I love you.
