A Year In Review: We Couldn't Have Done it Without You!

Well hello there! We’ve taken a little break from the blog, but we just had to share why it’s been such a great year here at LaBella Flora Children’s Boutique. 2014 Has served us well, and we would love to share with you what your purchases have helped us do to give to children in need! As we’ve mentioned before, adoption has a special place in our hearts, and our 2014 contributions to international and local children have been as wonderful as ever.

Guatemala

At Village of Hope, Guatemala our owner LaDonna went with her church group to take Christmas to the children there. They made over 1200 cookies, (can you imagine a child being oblivious to what a chocolate chip is?) did Christmas crafts so that the children could decorate the tree, and more. We were so impressed with how the village has transformed! All of the children now live in family style housing (they have 4 duplexes with adults and children living in a family setting!), they have amazing security to help protect the families, and the children just seemed so happy and were so thankful that they were no longer living in institutionalized facilities. Yay!

Guatemala-House-1Here is a great photo of the family that lives in house 1. We will definitely be posting more pictures as we receive them back so that everyone can see some of their amazing transformations!

Waterloo

We’ve also done some local donations to help our own little community’s children. The Preschool at Waterloo Elementary is a newer program that hasn’t received any state funding, but we are going to continue to partner with them for local donations. This winter we took them a bunch of winter coats and hats and gloves for the children that would come to school without them (believe it or not, there were quite a few!) and then again around Christmas time we gave them some more hats, gloves and books. In our photo is the director of the preschool with one of the teachers holding some of our donations. Aren’t they just adorable? We love making people smile!

We hope this has helped you understand why your purchases are so important not only to us, but to children in need. Thank you so much for being a part of a successful 2014! We hope everyone has a great new year!

xoxo Cassidy
